Chapter Presented at University Celebration
The Department of Computer Science (IDI) at NTNU celebrated its 50th birthday on November 21, 2022. The goal of the event was to present its history, as well as its success stories.

Among the success stories that originate from the Department, there is Fast or Kahoot!, but so is IDUN, the mentorship project that helped increase the number of female professors at the Institute. Before the project, only 13.8% of professors were women at the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering. The goal of the initiative was to hire 9 adjunct professors, identifying as women, from around the world, who would teach and mentor about 50 mentees at the university. By 2021, the ratio of women was significantly higher at the Faculty: 16.4%!
The project was successful, inspiring change. The scarcity of women in academia, however, is not a problem that can be solved with one initiative. In our talk we introduced several projects building on the knowledge and networks of IDUN, one of them being this very chapter.

We hope to see many people at our Meet and Greet on December 9!
